Working in a still life setting within my own home, using very limited props and tools I have created imagery that both abstracts and often mystifies people. Abstractions of liquid light, is an exploration into the sublime and opulence of the every-day. It transforms and abstracts liquids such as oils and dyes to created imagery that appears to mimic both astrological and cellular objects. With an avid interest in planetary phenomenon and astrological photography, these images endeavoured to abstract the forms of everyday household items to recreate the beauty of the natural and cosmological substances. Some of the images have later been combined in postproduction to create sequences in a collaged effect to further push the abstracted and illusionary nature in an unending variations of forms.
